ACTION: Herbicide.
USE: Postemergence for control of most annual and some perennial grasses and broadleaf weeds in corn.
FORMULATIONS: Water dispersible granule, suspension concentrate.
PREMIX PARTNERS: Atrazine; Dicamba; Diflufenzopyr; Metsulfuron-methyl; Rimsulfuron.

Identification

COMMON NAME: Nicosulfuron (ANSI, BSI, ISO-E draft).

Chemistry

COMPOSITION: 2-(4,6-dimethoxypyrimidin-2-ylcarbamoylsulfamoyl)-N,N-dimethylnicotinamide(1).
CLASS: Sulfonylurea.
PROPERTIES: Tan colored.

Environmental Guidelines

HAZARDS: Fish: LC50 >1000 ppm (96 h) (bluegill); LC50 >1000 ppm (96 h) (rainbow trout); EC50 >1000 ppm (48 h) (Daphina). Bird: Oral LD50 >2250 mg/kg (bobwhite quail); Dietary LC50 >5620 ppm (mallard duck).
WATER SOLUBILITY: 0.07 g/l.

Safety Guidelines

TOXICITY: (Rat): Oral LD50 >5000 mg/kg b.w. (Rabbit): Dermal LD50 >2000 mg/kg.
HANDLING/STORAGE: Do NOT store with food. Store in cool, dry, well-ventilated, secure area out of reach of children and animals.
