ACTION: Insecticide; Nematicide; Seed Treatment/Protectant.
USE: For fruits, vegetables, tobacco, forage, field crops, grasslands, ornamentals, pastures, rangeland; grubs and nematodes in turf; seed treatment; fly control.
FORMULATIONS: Dust, emulsifiable and oil solutions, granule, seed dressing, ULV, wettable powder.
PREMIX PARTNERS: Carboxin; lambda-Cyhalothrin; Cypermethrin; Fenobucarb; Lindane; Permethrin.

Identification

COMMON NAME: Diazinon (ANSI, ISO, BSI, JMAF, ESA).

Chemistry

COMPOSITION: O,O,-Diethyl O-[6-methyl-2-(1-methylethyl)-4-pyrimidinyl] phosphorothioate((1)1).
CLASS: Organophosphate.
PROPERTIES: Colorless oil, d20/4 1.116-1.118, n20/d 1.4978-1.4981. Tech: pale-to-dark brown liquid, at least 90% pure. Miscible with ethanol, acetone, xylene, soluble in petroleum oils.

Environmental Guidelines

HAZARDS: Fish, Bee: Toxic.
WATER SOLUBILITY: Room temperature 0.004%.

Safety Guidelines

TOXICITY: Tech (Rat): Oral LD50 1250 mg/kg. Inhalation LC50 5.4 mg/l (4 h). (Rabbit): Dermal >2020 mg/kg. Mild eye, skin irritation.
HANDLING/STORAGE CAUTIONS: Store in original container only in cool, dry, well-ventilated, secure area out of reach of children and animals. Do not apply to humans, clothing, or bedding. Do not contaminate food or use on household tanks.
