Action / Use
ACTION: Fungicide.
USE: Controls wide range of Ascomycetes, Fungi Imperfecti, Basidiomycetes on bananas, cereals, cotton, fruits, grapes, mushrooms, ornamentals, peanuts, plantation crops, sugarbeets, soybeans, tobacco, turf, vegetables, and other crops.
FORMULATIONS: Aqueous suspension, water dispersible granule, wettable powder.

Identification
COMMON NAME: Carbendazim (BSI, ISO-E); Carbendazime (ISO-F); Carbendazol (JMAF/MAF).
Chemistry
COMPOSITION: Methylbenzimidazole-2-ylcarbamate (1).
PROPERTIES: Tech: Nearly white, odorless solid. Tech: xylene <1g/100g (20℃); cyclohexanone <1g/100g.

Environmental Guidelines

WATER SOLUBILITY: 8 mg/l at 24℃(pH 7).
HAZARDS: Fish: LC50 0.61 mg/l (96 h) (carp); 0.83 mg/l (rainbow trout). Derosal*: Fish: LC50 >1000 mg/l (96 h) (carp); 1.4 mg/l (rainbow trout). Bird: Oral LD50 10996 mg/kg b.w. (Japanese quail). Bee: Nontoxic.

Safety Guidelines

TOXICITY: Tech (Rat): Oral LD50 >15,000 mg/kg (in sesame oil). Dermal LD50 >2000 mg/kg.
HANDLING/STORAGE: Store between 0-30℃ (maximum 50℃). Avoid contact with skin, eyes, clothing, or food.
SPILL: Solid spillage should be picked up with an industrial vacuum cleaner and disposed of in accordance with local regulations.
PRODUCT/WASTE: Must be disposed of by special means, e.g., suitable incineration, in accordance with local regulations.

Emergency Guidelines

FIRST AID: Get medical aid. Eyes: rinse thoroughly with plenty of water. Skin: remove contaminated clothing and immediately wash skin with soap and water. Inhalation: remove to fresh air. Ingestion: if a large amount is ingested (i.e., one mouthful), induction of vomiting should be considered if patient is fully conscious and less than 30 minutes has elapsed since ingestion.
